Actually since there is little chance of me writing a ‘proper’ post at the moment I wanted to share with you what I think has to be one of the best ever Korean [English-language] newspaper headlines:
Korean Scientists Create Magical Substance
Don’t even think about reading it, you’ll be so disappointed. With the KCNA on the other hand, the contents usually live up to the headline.
I hadn’t looked at KCNA for a couple weeks, so went on over today. I had to use a proxy to acccess the site this time. I wish the Ministry of (dis-)Information and (non-)Communication would make up its collective mind.
And there I discover that the foreign minister met with the assistant to Rev. Franklin Graham!? WTF?
For those not familiar with the good rev, he inherited the empire of his father Billy. Here’s a sample of his “Good News”:
The God of Islam is not the same God. He’s not the son of God of the Christian or Judeo-Christian faith. It’s a different God, and I believe it is a very evil and wicked religion.
Shit like this doesn’t exactly calm the paranoid in me.

The North Korean government seems to have a strange relationship with religious loonies. Wasn’t the Rev. Moon quite a regular visitor to the earthly paradise? Perhaps these nutters see their own reflection when they look across the meeting table at each other and toast themselves with a glass of cognac.
