Hmm, interesting but, perhaps, not unexpected. Although I was suprised that South Korea still has the death penalty - I was also going to write that it is suprising the USA still has the death penalty, but paused, and decided it wasn’t (it is also one of only four countries globally that allows for the sentencing of minors to ‘life without parole’; whilst the three others have, altogether, about a dozen serving prisoners who have been so sentenced, the USA has thousands).
On a lighter(but, come to think of it, a quite similar,) note did you watch ‘Oldboy’ on TV over Xmas, Kotaji? A great film - something like a Korean ‘Count of Monte Cristo’. Also I think ‘Solaris’ was on, too, the one with George Clooney - whether it is as good as Tarkovsky’s version, however, is a moot point.
